3 Ways to Eradicate Gout Symptoms Naturally

Welcome back! I'm so glad that you're finding "Natural Gout Remedies" so useful. John Cielo

To eliminate gout symptoms you can use natural methods instead of drug-based medications. Many more people are being turned-off drugs because of their side effects and their ongoing cost, but also because they address the symptoms, not the underlying root cause(s) of gout.

Here are 3 of the most effective natural ways to eradicate your gout symptoms…

Eat Lots of Cherries

Many people believe this home remedy to be the king of natural gout remedies. Cherries are full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. There is also some evidence that they can reduce the uric acid levels in your blood. So, all-in-all, cherries are a powerful way to help eradicate gout symptoms.

During an attack, eat 30 to 40 cherries every 4 hours. Outside of an attack, 30 to 40 cherries daily should help maintain lower uric acid levels. If they are out of season, get some concentrated cherry juice from your local health food shop.

Drink Lots of Water

Drinking a lot of water every day will keep your body well-hydrated. A well hydrated body can help to fight against uric acid crystal formation and also help your kidneys flush excess uric acid and uric acid crystals out of your body.

You should drink at the very least, 12 x 8 ounce glasses of water everyday, more if you can. And spread these glasses throughout the day for best effect. Don’t ‘binge’ drink.

Change to a Low Purine Diet

Purines are chemical compounds in your body and food that breakdown and form uric acid during your body’s normal metabolizing process. Now some foods have more purines than others. So by eating a high purine diet, you’re just piling on more and more uric acid to your already high acid levels, thus making your gout worse, and, making it very difficult to eradicate your gout symptoms.

Depending on your present diet, you’ll need to considerably reduce some foods and avoid other foods altogether. Typical foods to avoid to help get rid of gout are; game, fatty red meat, organ meat, some fish, shellfish, poultry, legumes and yeast products. Foods to perhaps reduce are; mushrooms, cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, etc.

Note that, as everybody’s metabolism is different, you’ll find that what might trigger a gout attack in one person, might not have the same effect in another, especially with moderately-high purine foods. You’ll get more detailed dietary information in other posts within this site (see links below).

How to Eliminate Gout Naturally Without Medication

Because of their somewhat nasty side effects, many gout sufferers are turning away from drug-based medications, and, focusing on natural ways to eliminate their gout instead. And a short search on the Internet will throw up tons of natural remedies that people are using to beat their gout.

The thing is which ones are effective and which ones not? And, of course, what might work for some people might not always work for others. You’re best to just try them and see which works best for you. It’ll probably be a combination of two or more even.

The key is to bear in mind what brings about your gout attacks, and focus on dealing with that. For example, gout attacks and a condition known as ‘hyperuricemia’ are most often connected. This is a condition where you have high uric acid levels in your body.

These high levels then allow for the creation of uric acid crystals in your joints, tendons and surrounding tissue. These are needle-like when seen through a microscope. And you body’s natural inflammatory reaction towards the joint causes your symptoms of gout;  redness, swelling, stiffness, heat, inflammation, and, let’s not forget, the agonizing pain!

So as a gout victim, you need to reduce inflammation, relieve the pain, and, lower your high uric acid levels. Then keep them there if possible. Maintaining lower uric acid levels is important in order to reduce the risk of recurring gout attacks which can eventually seriously damage your joints and even cause painful kidney stones.

You therefore need to find natural remedies that can do all three of the above. Here’s one of my favorite natural home remedies that did the trick for me:-

Cherries to Eliminate Gout Naturally

Studies have shown that, because of their vitamin, nutrient, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, many fruits (and vegetables) can have quite dramatic affects on your health, including on your gout.

Cherries, in particular, are a well known home remedy for gout. They contain anthocyanins which have anti-inflammatory properties that more or less work as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) do, but without the drugs. Research has also shown that they can lower uric acid levels in the blood.

The amount you need to take to get full benefit depends on each individual. Reports of their effectiveness vary between taking as few as 6 cherries per day, up to as many as 40 cherries per day. Some research suggests that 20 cherries a day is the same as taking 1 NSAID per day.

During a gout attack you might want to try eating around 30 to 40 cherries every 4 hours for rapid relief. In between attacks, i.e. for maintenance, you could eat 30 to 40 each day.

And don’t forget that recurring gout can cause permanent joint damage over time, so do all you can to prevent that happening.

You’ll need to address a number of issues here; your weight, your diet, lifestyle, medications, underlying medical conditions, etc. These can all impact your chances of gout. And once having had a gout attack, your chances of getting more attacks increase dramatically.

You can get the information you need in the Gout Remedy Report which I have used, and, which I have reviewed here.
