Gout Diets: Pineapples and Strawberries

Welcome back! I'm so glad that you're finding "Natural Gout Remedies" so useful. John Cielo

Both pineapples and strawberries have very good natural benefits for the gout sufferer. Both are known as effective natural gout remedies in their own right. But together they make a very tasty dish that’s also highly beneficial for gout.

First let’s take a quick look at pineapples…

They have strong natural anti-inflammatory properties. So eaten fresh they can help to reduce inflammation and relieve the agonizing pain of gout.

They contain an enzyme called bromelain which can breakdown a blood-clotting protein called fibrin. In this way they help improve blood circulation, and, because they can also block inflammatory agents, they are able reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

Now, let’s look at strawberries…

Studies have indicated that people who take high levels of vitamin C over a period of time can actually reduce their uric acid levels. And strawberries have high vitamin C concentrations.

But they also contain flavonoids which have natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This, together with the vitamin C, makes strawberries particularly beneficial in both reducing inflammation, and, lowering uric acid levels.

Of course you can eat them separately, but you can also combine them for a really tasty treat…

Cut the fresh pineapple into chunks, cut the strawberries into halves, and then mix together in a plastic container. Seal and pop in the fridge overnight. It’s delicious and highly beneficial! If you wish you can add low-fat yogurt which has relatively low purine levels.
